Demario Williams

Demario Williams is a filmmaker and actor from California who first began making films with In Yo Face Filmworks in the streets of East Oakland . At an early age, Demario was exposed to violence in the streets of East Oakland that culminated in an incident where he was shot three times and his cousin was murdered.  This incident led to a subsequent collaboration with Green Eyed Media to produce a short film called "Under the Gun" that has come to exemplify the transformative work that media production can have in treating health problems and securing long-term public healthcare.  His work has been critically acclaimed and become the subject of discussion by several institutions that include: the Springer Publishing Group, Expression's College, the TED TALK lecture series, the Boys & Men of Color Initiative, United Roots, and Youth UpRising.
