Stephen Murphy

Stephen MurphyStephen Murphy is a composer, songwriter/arranger, and music producer from Atlanta, GA. He is a recent graduate of Oakwood University in Huntsville, AL, receiving a B.A. Degree in Music with a concentration in Composition and Recording Arts. During his tenure at Oakwood, Stephen had the esteemed privilege of arranging vocals for the ten-time Grammy Award winning group Take 6. He also sang with the university’s world renowned choir, “The Aeolians”, who are ranked #1 in the Spiritual category and 16th in the world. While a member, Mr. Murphy wrote an acapella piece in the style of a Negro Spiritual which was included in the regular repertoire of the choir. He also co-composed/arranged a choral fantasy on the song “Oh How He Loves You and Me” that was performed by “The Aeolians” and members of the Alabama Symphony. Both songs were featured on a live-recorded concert that is now released as an album.

In 2013, Murphy also had the distinct privilege of being one of the Executive Producer's for a compilation album that was released through the Oakwood University every year, as well as serving as a contributing writer, producer, and arranger on four of the fifteen tracks. Music genres such as Gospel, Soul, Jazz, Classical, R&B, Indie, Alternative, Pop, and original Hip Hop/Rap have all played a major role in the way in which Stephen formulates the music he makes.
